There are different ways to assemble the Belén and we are going to see them.
In the Belén predominate the figures that represent normal people in a traditional life at the past and the messiah with the virgin Mery and Sait Joseph. There are some animals like ducks, cocks, rabbits, etc. This figures are normally made of clay and with lots of colours on their clothes, but there are some figures made of porcelain, that are white with some colours, but they're more simple that clay's figures.
In the Belén it's very typically to put sawdust in the floor to represent the grass and aluminium paper to imitate the river. For the sky, there are papers with starts that we put it in the wall. For the mountains there is a special paper brown and beige that we crumple and put it like a rock, or if we prefer trunks and moss. The houses and the Herodes's castle are usually made of cork and they are very simple.
Every person assemble the Belén to their liking, normally it's depends on the person who put it, because it's not the same a Belén in a house that a Belén in a shop. In the houses, all the familly mount the Belén together. The childrens always want to put all the figures where they want, and they like it a lot. In the shops, there is one o two people responsible to assemble the Belén in the shop window.
